Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Flowers are typically a very popular gift to give, and especially this time of year, can be a little extra expensive. But, you can still save money with a few tips here that we’ll discuss.
Above all, buying flowers at the grocery store for Valentine’s Day is probably going to be your cheapest bet. No markups, delivery fees, or service charges necessary. However, what you might run into is a lack of availability if you buy last minute. (I should probably get on it.) If you are pressed for time, you might want to consider arranging flower delivery through FTD or 1-800-Flowers. I have discussed several ways in the past where you can get cash back, free delivery, or no service charges depending on how you strategize your purchase. That means, using the right credit card, shopping portal, or applying the right coupon code.
Save money on Valentine’s Day with PayPal
With my renewed interest in PayPal, I was cruising their site today and noticed that they have a couple of promos that they are running for FTD and 1-800-Flowers, 20 – 40% off, respectively, for select purchases. Not only can use these codes for Valentine’s Day, but for the rest of the year as well.
To take advantage of this offer, head over to PayPal.com/deals and locate the gifts category. Click through the link, shop, and checkout. It should be automatic from there. American Express tends to have deals like this, too. See my posts on Sync offers that can be similar, or even better, than the ones that PayPal is promoting.
Bonus tip for saving money on Valentine’s Day if you are going out to dinner, be on the lookout for pricey fixed menu restrictions. You may be overbuying.
